Closed End Blind Rivets have a unique cup shaped end configuration that seals tight, preventing passage of vapor or liquid through the set rivet.
Closed end pop rivets are tubular, comprised of a hat and mandrel; the length of the mandrel is snapped off when installed.
Sealed rivets have complete mandrel retention ensuring better strength compared to standard pop rivets but not as strong as multi grip rivets, great for low load bearing applications.
Closed-end product with a solid core requires a secondary grinding operation to the mandrel on the primary side of the application once the rivet has been set.
To assist in corrosion prevention, these rivets have a completely closed end to prevent the entry of liquids, moisture, air and other contaminants into the rivet or the riveted hole. Likewise, this rivet can be used to prevent the leakage of such materials from an assembly (e.g. fluid from a reservoir).
Key features and benefits:
Low cost
Strong and reliable fastenings
Without skilled operators,
No surface marring,
Exceptional versatility,
High grip and pull strengths,
Clean installations.
Single-side access (blind rivet).
Great tightness. The joints are completely sealed to fluids, avoiding leakage of liquids or vapors
Can fasten different materials
Wide rangeof diameters
The mandrel is completely locked within the head, avoiding electrical problems or pounding.
It does not deform surfacesafter the riveting process is finished (painted, glazed, etc.).
Good performance with temperature variations.
It does not come loose from dynamic stress (vibrations in general)
Available with rings or neoprene gaskets for an even better sealing.
Fast, simple and great quality assembly.
It requires simple, fast and lightweight tools.
Assembly applications:
Motor body builders
Electrical switchboards & appliances
Sheet metal industries
Automotive industry
Containers
Construction
Metal Industry
Metal furniture
Air conditioning and heating
